There's Nothing Scary About Chicago's Hottest Halloween Soirees

If you haven't had a chance to check out Pilsen hot spot Punch House, it might come this weekend if you attend the annual Redmoon Theater Boneshaker bash. That's because the theater's new digs (2120 S. Jefferson St.) are not too far away from the lively new cocktail lounge.

Happening 9pm-2am Nov. 1, the post-Halloween party's produced and hosted by Youth Engineering Spectacle Committee (Redmoon's young professionals' board). You know those artsy, creative types plan to go all out with their costumes, so we advise you to do the same.

Look for them to also make great use of Redmoon's new warehouse studio, turning it into quite the spectacle for the soiree. In addition to Redmoon actors playing various characters throughout the space, expect imaginative uses of food and wine.

A $75 ticket gets you close and personal with a number of interactive displays that are meant to amuse and amaze you. We're pretty excited about the Kegway—a new Redmoon invention that combines a Segway with tap service, as well as the "wine bikes" and "teapot libation machine." Guests also get to roast hot dogs outdoors on massive "fire candelabras," enjoy pizza slices from another Segway and relish in some tasty popcorn via mobile headpieces worn by Redmoon performers. Here's where you get those tickets.

Boneshaker's for adults only, but you can bring the entire family out for Skelebration, also located at Redmoon Theater's new Pilsen home. The events occur Nov. 2-3 (11am-1pm; 2-4pm or 5-7pm both days) and provide children an opportunity to explore their creativity. They'll get to build shadow puppets and perform in a show; create masks to wear in a parade alongside Redmoon performers; bicycle around the space; and chow down on snacks healthier than anything they'll get if they go trick or treating. It's $20 for adults; $12 for kids ages three and up; and free for kids under three. Here is where you purchase tickets.

• Bubbly lovers may indulge during Allium's second-annual Yelloween with Veuve Clicquot. The masquerade ball happens 7pm-1am Oct. 30 with a deejay, seasonal bites, and specially priced bottles and flutes of Veuve's yellow label ($99 bottles, $19 flutes). Black and white attire is recommended, and masquerade masks will be provided at the door.

• Also happening Oct. 30 is a costume party at cocktail lounge Berkshire Room. The party's 7-10pm, free and there's a cash bar.

• The person who wins the costume contest during May St. CafĂ©'s Halloween party will get a chauffeured limo and chef's table dinner. Doors open at 5pm Oct. 31 with spooky margaritas and additional specials.

Quartino brings back its popular Wine Bash on Halloween. For $20 per person, you get unlimited wine, beer and light bites. There will be a special prize for the winner of the costume contest. That happens 7-9pm.

• And Untitled hosts a Halloween edition of its risque Unbridled event. This one should be especially off the hook with an appearance by Dead Man's Carnival, an outrageous vaudevillian, circus and burlesque troupe from Milwaukee. The party happens 8pm-2am Oct. 31. Get the tickets right here.
